In 1919, due to scarcity of circulating notes, an unknown quantity of Series 1912 were blacked out and overprinted by Philippine National Bank for their own issuance.

It is stated by some collectors that there is 2 variety of Garcia – Hord, with rays and without rays on the reverse, for the purpose of this catalog, it is categorized as faded color only and it is recognized by many as such.

Printed in 5-subject sheets. All Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Banknotes were demonetized after July 21, 1950, pursuant to Executive Order No. 111, Proclamation No. 5, Executive Order No. 25, Executive Order No. 166 and Executive Order No. 310.
