Obverse

The 50-piso note shows the portrait of President Sergio S. Osmeña, who was also the first Speaker of the Philippine Assembly. A gavel signifying his speakership and the Fuente Osmeña monument erected in his honor in his native Cebu City appear on the Right side. Reverse

The reverse features National Museum, the main repository and guardian of Philippine natural and cultural heritage. "National Museum" "Gusali ng Pambansang Museo" "Limampung Piso"

Security Features

Portrait watermark that can be seen when viewed against the light. Broken security thread arranged in a vertical line. Red and blue visible fibers all over the note and invisible fluorescent printing

Remarks

Souvenir copies of the special edition currency were distributed during the event at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Building in Pasay City held on August 10, 2012 to the 9 ambassadors of ASEAN countries, namely: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
