Remarks
On , The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) officially corrected the centuries-old error committed by Spanish and Filipino historians, by proclaiming an "unnamed" leader of Macabebe as the hero and martyr in the Battle of Bangkusay.
The hero of Battle of Bangkusay has been called many names, Rajah Soliman, Tarik Soliman, Bambalito, bangkaw but for lacking in strong evidence and valid sources, NHCP proclaimed the hero simply as "Unnamed Leader of Macabebe".
According to NHCP, Tarik Soliman was a false name imagined by a politician-fiction writer Pedro Paterno. Rajah Soliman was not one and the same with "Unnamed" Leader of Macabebe, and at least two documents mention Raja Soliman as Living beyond Bangkusay. Lastly Bambalito has been disputed to be a local name as it is more Spanish.
