Note

The Filipinos (snack food) have drawn controversy for having the same name as the people of the Philippines. In 1999, the Philippine Government filed a diplomatic protest with Nabisco Iberia (then the manufacturer of Filipinos Chocolate), government of Spain and the European Commission, objecting the use of the name "Filipinos" for the chocolate, a term which can refer to the people of the Philippines, to market chocolate, cookie, and pretzel snacks and demanded that Nabisco stop selling the product until the brand name was changed. As of this writing, the product is still being sold under the new owner.
