This 25 Piso Coin, a newly designed in 1981, is minted in .500 fine silver and honors the first World Food day, sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, which was held on October 16, 1981.

Remarks

On May 18, 2018 Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) announced the demonetization of this coin, it is legal tender until April 30, 2019. It can be exchanged at par with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020 and considered demonetized starting May 1, 2020
